The Tulsa Zoo has announced the hatching of three endangered Komodo dragons.
The announcement says the hatchlings are all doing well after emerging from their eggs on March 19, 21 and 28.
The zoo’s animal care team oversaw the hatchlings from egg collection to supervising nine months of incubation and successful hatching.
The Tulsa Zoo is a long-time partner with the Association of Zoos & Aquariums Komodo Dragon Species Survival Plan, and says with fewer than 3,500 left in the wild, each Komodo dragon hatch is extremely meaningful.
All three Komodo hatchlings are currently visible to the public in the zoo’s Conservation Center.
