BECKHAM COUNTY, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) confirmed Oklahoma Senate candidate Barry Christian was found dead inside his truck.
The Greer County Sheriff’s Office asked the public to be on the lookout for Christian after he hadn’t been heard from since Tuesday and failed to appear for a scheduled meeting on Wednesday.
Around 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, a pickup truck matching the description of the one Christian drove was located in the Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management Area, just south of Erick.
Christian’s family stated they were informed a body was found inside the truck, but OSBI was unable to make a final determination until Christian’s identity was later confirmed by the medical examiner’s office.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is still working to determine Christian’s cause and manner of death.
OSBI said they’re still actively investigating this case.
