The Broken Arrow Special Olympics team received a spirited send-off from students and staff Wednesday before departing for Stillwater to participate in the annual Summer Games.
Head Coach Ashley Lemaster expressed gratitude for the community’s support as the team embarked on their journey from the Broken Arrow High School fieldhouse.
2,800 athletes will be competing in various events during the Summer Games, providing participants with memorable experiences akin to high school athletics.
The event aims to foster connections among athletes from across the state by emphasizing sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The Summer Games running from Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information on the event is available online.
