TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Firefighters are reminding people not to leave food cooking unattended, after responding to a fire in a kitchen at a duplex near 66th and Memorial this morning.
They say 911 calls from witnesses came in around 7:30 a.m. this morning, reporting a fire at the duplex.
They say when firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the kitchen area on fire but found there was nobody inside the home.
They say they got the fire under control after about 20 minutes.
They say the fire could be related to cooking and remind people not to leave food cooking unattended and that cooking in general is one of the leading causes of house fires.
They say the quick action by neighbors and firefighters kept the fire from becoming much worse.
