TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police responded to a road rage call near Interstate 44 and 129th East Avenue on June 5.

According to police, the suspect of the incident was tailgating the victim, followed them off the highway, rear-ended them and then lost control of their car resulting in them crashing into a concrete pillar.

Police said all of this took place around 12:25 a.m. The victim was driving a vintage Japanese Mazda with right-hand driving on the highway when a white Chevrolet Silverado began tailgating him.

The victim turned north on 129th East Avenue and drove in circles to test if the truck driver would continue to follow him. The victim also called 911 and was on the phone with dispatch when the truck rear-ended him and spun him out.

Police said the suspect driving the Silverado lost control of their truck, jumped the curb and crashed into a concrete pillar under the I-44 bridge.

The suspect was found stuck inside of his truck by TPD officers and was assisted by the Tulsa Fire Department. He was then taken to the hospital by EMSA for treatment.

The victim, who refused medical care at the scene, told police he was unsure what made the driver follow him.

Tulsa Police Department’s Advanced Traffic Investigators have taken over the case for further investigation.
