A Tulsa man is facing child sex charges after being arrested by the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office.
Wagoner County deputies ran an undercover operation on May 30 targeting adults seeking sexual activity with minors.
A confidential informant posed online as a 15‑year‑old girl, and investigators say Aaron Wendt of Tulsa arranged to meet her at a QuikTrip in Broken Arrow.
When deputies approached, Wendt fled, leading a dangerous pursuit through the area. Deputies used a containment maneuver on the Broken Arrow Expressway to stop him, and after resisting arrest, he was taken into custody with help from a K‑9 unit.
Wendt was evaluated for minor injuries, booked into the Wagoner County Detention Center, and charged with multiple offenses, including Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Lewd Acts with a Child, Endangering Others While Eluding, and Engaging in Prostitution or Lewdness.
Sheriff Chris Elliott praised the team’s work and emphasized the importance of proactive operations to protect children from online predators.
