OG&E has issued an email to several of its customers asking them to raise the temperature of their thermostats.
An email was sent out to the company’s SmartHours Daily customers in Oklahoma of a Critical Event regarding high electricity demand.
They are asking customers to raise the temperature of their thermostats by two to four degrees.
OG&E says Critical Events have been part of the SmartHours Daily program for years and are used sparingly when the electricity demand is expected to be high, especially on high temperature and heat index days.
