TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Police responded to a call of a teenage boy threatening a girl with a gun at the Gathering Place Monday evening. Officers found the 13-year-old boy matching the description between 7pm and 8pm while flying a Tulsa Police helicopter overhead.
The teen was hanging out with a group of other kids, and the group walked through the park in an attempt to avoid officers and security. Eventually the group scattered, but the helicopter kept watching the 13-year-old suspect and led officers to catch up with him.
After searching the teen’s backpack, officers found a loaded handgun inside. He was taken to the Community Intervention Center for Minor in Possession of a Firearm
