OWASSO, Okla. — The Owasso Police Department said an employee was found dead outside the Owasso Atwoods on Tuesday.
The 51-year-old man was found dead outside the Atwoods store, located near East 116th Street North and North Garnett Road, in a gated work area.
Police are investigating the cause of death.
FOX23 spoke with the customer who found the employee.
“I think you’re kind of in emergency mode whenever you roll up on something like that,” Luke Benedict said. “Really, I was just trying to get him help. That’s what I was trying to do. It looked like he had been out there for a while, so I knew when I rolled him over there wasn’t much I could do for him. At the time, I was just trying to get some help out there.”
Police said the employee’s family has been notified of his death.
A spokesperson for Atwoods said they did not want to speculate on the situation.
