TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Tahlequah Fire Department said two people were injured in an RV explosion Wednesday morning.
Around 8 a.m., firefighters were called to an address on Highway 62, just east of Tahlequah, for reports that an RV had exploded and was on fire. The Welling Fire Department was asked to assist with the call.
The explosion had also caught a neighboring RV on fire. Two people had been injured and transported to the hospital in a personal vehicle before first responder arrived.
The neighboring RV that was damaged was unoccupied at the time of the explosion.
Firefighters were still on scene until around 9:30 a.m. extinguishing the fire.
The Tahlequah Police Department, Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the cause of the explosion. FOX23 will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
