TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police arrested a local hospital nurse for alleged sexual assault of a patient.
54-year-old James Edward Beaver was accused of sexually assaulting a 45-year-old female patient, per Tulsa Police (TPD).
Police said the victim said she was admitted to the hospital two days before the alleged assault. Beaver was one of the nurses assigned to her care.
Police said during her time at the hospital, Beaver reportedly came into the room and sexually assaulted her when he believed her to be asleep.
On September 19, 2025, TPD responded to the call detailing this assault. The victim took a SANE examination and DNA evidence was collected, police said.
Police said on July 16, 2026, SVU Detectives were given the lab results, linking Beaver to the case. An arrest warrant was issued and police arrested Beaver on charges of first degree rape by instrumentation.
Unfortunately, police say that this is not the only case where Beaver is a suspect. TPD said they are “investigating another reported case in which Beaver was listed as the suspect.”
