OSAGE COUNTY, Okla. — The Osage County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man who they say was involved in the burglary of the Oklahoma National Guard Armory in Pawhuska.
According to reports, the Pawhuska Police Department requested the assistance of the office on July 8 in investigating a burglary at the former National Guard Armory, located at 823 East 8th Street. The facility currently contains evidence and property belonging to the Pawhuska Police.
During the investigation, search warrants for two residence were obtained by investigators which resulted in the recovery of several items reported stolen during the burglary which included a stolen motorcycle, several tools and other propery belonging to Pawhuska Police, evidence associated with previous criminal investigations, and suspected illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia discovered during the search.
Based on the evidence, deputies arrested David Dewayne Cochrane, of Pawhuska, in connection to the burglary. Investigators say he unlawfully entered the armory and removed the items and other property before he hid portions of the items at another residence.
