Tulsa Public Schools recently announced positive results from the Oklahoma State Testing Program (OSTP) assessments, showing improvement in several subjects.
Both math and reading test scores, across all grade levels, improved for the third consecutive year.
The district saw gains in the “basic” category in math, with 1,852 students now considered “proficient” or “advanced.” Superintendent Dr. Ebony Johnson expressed pride in the hard work and dedication reflected in the results.
“Just to give a shout-out to our students for showing up and doing their best on those Spring assessments on the Oklahoma School testing program. In addition to that, I’m proud of our teachers working really, really hard, and just making sure students get the information they need so they can show what they know. I’m very proud of our schools as a whole and proud of our team who have contributed to that data,” Johnson said.
Notable improvements were seen in science assessments for elementary schools, with fifth-graders showing significant progress in both “basic” and “proficient” or “advanced” categories. Middle school math also showed growth opportunities.
