COWETA — The City of Coweta is saying “good-bye” to surveillance cameras.
Coweta Police Chief Mike Bell contacted Flock Safety, the company that provides two Flock cameras for the city, and informed them that they will not be renewing their contract.
The official letter, sent today, requested the removal of two Flock cameras and to notify the company that Coweta would not be renewing the Flock Safety contract for the upcoming 2027 budget year. The decision not to renew was based on ongoing citizen concerns regarding Fourth Amendment rights, which protect people from unreasonable searches and seizures by the government.
Earlier in the year, citizens told city officials they did not want a data center in the area, and the company decided to pull out.

Good morning. The City of Coweta is requesting the removal of the two Flock cameras from their current positions. We will not be renewing our current contract for these two devices in the upcoming 2027 budget year.
Please advise on the date of removal and confirm that no new charges are left to be paid by September 15th.
