TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department arrest a 16-year-old after police say he attempted to drive away from officers during a traffic stop.
According to police, officers were on patrol before 10 p.m. on August 21 when they noticed a driver of a black Nissan Altima swerving quickly from side to side in a busy parking lot near 21st and Garnett. Officers initiated a traffic stop and they say when talking to the suspect, he had bloodshot, watery eyes, and refused to answer questions while he ate snacks and talked on the phone.
As officers asked him to step out of the car, they say the suspect shifted the car into drive. Officers then opened the car door and pulled him from the driver’s seat and put the car back into park.
The driver did not have ID and refused to give officers accurate information, but agreed to take a breathalyzer test and blew a 0.14.
