TULSA, Okla. – Greenheck Group, a manufacturer of commercial air movement, control and conditioning equipment, announced plans today to acquire the former Macy’s facility in north Tulsa County.
The 1.3-million-square-foot building sits on 72 acres and is less than 15 minutes from Greenheck’s existing Tulsa operation.
The company says the facility will house additional manufacturing and office space as it continues to expand its Oklahoma operations.
Greenheck says it expects to complete initial upgrades to the building by spring of 2027, with production beginning shortly afterward.
The company says it plans to invest approximately $300 million in the facility and create more than 700 new jobs over the next five years, more than doubling Greenheck’s manufacturing footprint in Oklahoma.
Greenheck first announced plans for a Tulsa campus in 2017 and now has more than 900 employees.
“Greenheck Group’s continued investment in the Tulsa region speaks volumes about the strength of our region as a place for manufacturing and long-term business growth,” said Mike Neal, president and CEO of the Tulsa Regional Chamber. “The company made Tulsa a promise in 2017, and it has exceeded it exponentially. This next chapter demonstrates Greenheck Group’s confidence in our region’s workforce, business environment, and ability to accommodate the manufacturer’s growth as it continues to serve its customers.”
The announcement comes less than a year after the former Macy’s facility closed.
The deal also received support from Governor Kevin Stitt, who says he personally met with Greenheck executives at his office to help work out the terms of the agreement.
Stitt says more details about the deal will be released during a joint news conference scheduled for September 18th.
