TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said they arrested a suspect accused of robbing a Walgreens pharmacy at Utica Square.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers said they were called out to respond to a reported armed robbery at the Walgreens located near East 21st Street and South Utica Avenue.
Authorities said employees told them a man wearing a hospital gown around his neck had entered the store and passed them a note demanding they give him oxycodone.
Police said the suspect then grabbed at his waistband, implying he had a gun.
The department said the employees handed over the pills and the suspect fled.
Officers said they set up a perimeter and began searching for him, but discovered the suspect had already left the area.
Authorities said they eventually discovered the 41-year-old suspect sitting by the Broken Arrow Expressway exit ramp close to East 15th Street.
Police said the suspect was taken into custody without incident and stated they found the stolen pills on the ground next to him.
Authorities said the suspect was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on a Robbery with a Firearm charge.
