OKLAHOMA — Oklahoma Task Force 1 has deployed swiftwater rescue personnel from Tulsa and Oklahoma City to assist with flood response operations in New Mexico.
The Tulsa Fire Department said OK-TF1 personnel are supporting search, rescue, and water operations as communities across New Mexico respond to significant flooding caused by heavy rainfall and saturated conditions.
The deployed teams are trained year-round in swiftwater rescue, boat operations, and flood response. TFD said the teams are prepared to provide specialized assistance when requested.
As flooding continues, TFD reminds motorists and residents to turn around, don’t drown. Never drive or walk through flooded roadways, as water depth and current can be difficult to determine.
