RAMONA, Okla. — A Ramona police officer was arrested on a sexual battery charge following accusations that he assaulted a city employee during a police ride-along.
According to court documents, 67-year-old Gerald Garrison is set to be charged with Sexual Battery and Forcible Sodomy.
Around 9:58 p.m. on Friday, a probable cause affidavit states Garrison reached out to the chief of the Ramona Police Department to inform him that Ramona Mayor Cyle Miller had told him he was being suspended.
Authorities said the department reached out to Mayor Miller to ask about the reason behind Garrison’s sudden suspension.
The affidavit states Miller told the department a city employee informed him they’d been touched inappropriately and made to engage in sexual conduct with Garrison during a police ride-along.
According to the affidavit, both surveillance video and physical evidence found at Ramona City Hall appear to corroborate the victim’s testimony of what occurred.
Around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, court documents state investigators conducted an interview with Garrison where they said he admitted to having engaged in some sexual contact with the employee at Ramona City Hall, but denied touching them beyond kissing.
Washington County Jail records show Garrison was arrested shortly after the interview at around 3:17 p.m. on Saturday.
