Coweta man with prior convictions pleads guilty to firearm, ammunition charges

A Coweta man recently pleaded guilty to firearm and ammunition charges.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that 32-year-old Anthony Joseph Ellison entered a guilty plea to one count of Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition, punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Ellison was found in possession of a pistol, rifle, and ammunition in December of 2025, despite having a prior felony conviction.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Coweta Police Department.

Ellison’s sentencing will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge.
