TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Oilers Foundation is launching a new student attendance recognition program to encourage good attendance habits and celebrate students’ commitment to attending school.
The Attend to Win program, presented by TTCU, will incentivize good attendance for students at Tulsa Public Schools and several other school districts in the Tulsa area. Participating schools will be able to recognize students for attendance achievements with certificates with prizes like tickets to Tulsa Oilers hockey games, ice skating passes, Whataburger Kid Meals, and TTCU Child Savings Accounts.
“We are incredibly excited to launch Attend to Win and partner with schools throughout Tulsa to celebrate students who are masking attendance a priority,” said Andy Scurto, Owner of the Tulsa Oilers. “Being present at school is an important part of a student’s educational experience, and we wanted to create a fun way to recognize students while bringing businesses and community partners together to support schools and families.”
A kickoff celebration was held on Tuesday morning at Dolores Huerta Elementary School. At the kickoff, 40 students from Dolores Huerta were recognized with Attend to Win certificates during a school-wide assembly.
Students were celebrated by school staff, the Tulsa Oilers mascot, Sledge, and representatives from the Tulsa Oilers Foundation and other community partners.
The Tulsa Oilers Foundation said it plans to work with participating schools to recognize students and make attendance something students can celebrate.
