OKLAHOMA — Attorney General Gentner Drummond is urging Oklahomans to check their eligibility for generic drug settlement payments related to claims that certain generic drug manufacturers illegally raised the prices of the drugs they produced.
Drummond, along with 47 other attorney generals from various U.S. states and territories, filed a plan to distribute the settlement funds paid by the generic drug companies who faced accusations about artificially inflating the prices of their medications.
“Drug companies colluded to drive up prices on medications that Oklahomans depend on,” Drummond stated. “When companies manipulate the marketplace, it is consumers who ultimately bear the costs. I am holding these companies accountable for their actions and fighting for a fair, competitive marketplace.”
The filed settlement fund distribution plan recently received preliminary approval from the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
The generic drug manufacturers with announced settlements include Glenmark, Lannett, Bausch, Apotex, Heritage and Heritage’s parent company, Emcure.
