BIXBY, Okla. – An early morning standoff in Bixby ends with the arrest of a wanted man.
The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office says the incident followed a break-in at a business in Broken Arrow where the suspect worked.
Deputies say the suspect was making felony threats, which led law enforcement to the home near 121st Street South and Sheridan around 5 this morning.
Ashley Wheeler with the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office says when deputies tried to talk to the suspect, he refused to make contact with them.
“Our negotiators did establish contact with him, trying to get him to exit the home. Inside that home were also his wife and his baby. After a little while, He broke contact with our negotiators, and he did exit the home, him and his wife, and his baby also exited. And that was a little after 9 A.m. this morning. Soon after, our SWAT team went in to secure the home, and now they will continue the investigation moving forward.”
Wheeler says the suspect came out peacefully with his wife and baby, and deputies were able to apprehend him without any incident.
