BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The City of Broken Arrow has placed Police Chief Lance Arnold on paid administrative leave while an internal investigation is conducted. City Manager Michael Spurgeon announced the move and immediately appointed Deputy Chief Scott Bennett as Acting Police Chief.
In a press briefing, Spurgeon said public safety remains his top priority and expressed full confidence in Bennett to lead the department during the investigation. Arnold has served as Broken Arrow’s police chief since January 2025.
The city acknowledged the community may have questions because of the high-profile nature of the position, but officials say no additional information will be released while the personnel investigation remains ongoing.
