Officers say the driver made a left turn from the middle lane, and that the car did not have a license plate. A chase began when officers attempted to stop the vehicle.

TPD says the vehicle turned onto Interstate 244 and accelerated to speeds of more than 100 mph. At that point, officers let the Air Support unit take over the chase.

Authorities say, as the helicopter continued to follow the vehicle, the driver turned off his lights.

Officers say the driver pulled into a driveway near Pine Street and North Santa Fe Avenue, before taking off again when officers arrived. The driver lost control of the vehicle on Edison Street, hitting a utility pole and retaining wall.
TPD says the driver was taken into custody and booked into the Tulsa County Jail after being evaluated at the hospital.
