OKLAHOMA — Windy and dry conditions have brought fires to the Oklahoma Panhandle.

The Oklahoma Forestry Service says near Hooker in Texas County, more than 8,000 acres have burned so far with a fire starting after a seven-vehicle accident on US-54.

In Beaver County, fires burned more than 15,000 acres.

Three firefighters from Rosston were injured while responding to the fire after their truck overturned. Another local firefighter was also injured, but the Oklahoma Forestry Service did not say how or where the firefighter was from.

The fire eventually spread into Kansas with 145,000 acres burned.
