BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Bixby Police say just after 2 this morning, an officer tried to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation, but the driver took off, leading to a pursuit.
The officer chased the driver, who reached speeds of 80–90 miles per hour, into Broken Arrow until the suspect vehicle left the roadway and landed upside down in a creek near 111th and Lynn Lane.
Officers had a hard time finding the vehicle because of the terrain.
When they found the vehicle, the Broken Arrow Fire Department extricated the driver, and the individual was pronounced deceased at approximately 2:46 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the Broken Arrow Police Department.
