Volunteers clean up Cyrus Avery Plaza ahead of Route 66 Centennial

Route 66

Volunteers in Tulsa gathered Sunday afternoon at the Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza to clean up graffiti, pick up trash, and enhance the area’s appearance in preparation for the Route 66 Centennial celebration.

The effort, organized by the volunteer group Save the Earth from A to Z – We Are One Family (ASEZ WAO) and the Tulsa Parks and Recreation Department, aimed to promote community cleanliness and environmental friendliness.

More than 90 volunteers, mostly young adults, worked for two hours to paint over graffiti and clear debris from the plaza.
