TULSA, Okla. — The City of Tulsa is launching ‘Ideas for Change’ in partnership with Change.org.
The program, called Civic Dialogues, will help the city gather feedback from residents on local issues.
Until June 14, Tulsa residents will be able to share ideas with the city, as well as each other, on the Ideas for Change website.
Change.org will take the ideas from the website and put together a list of the most submitted topics. Then, they will assemble a group of residents to discuss the topics further with the goal of coming up with a plan for action.
“Change.org will host an online space where residents can not only share their own ideas on what would be good for the city, but support and build on others’ ideas as well. Our process engages a wide net of community members and builds consensus around practical policy solutions. We are excited to engage residents of Tulsa and bring their ideas to city leadership,” said Duncan Lockard, General Manager of Civic Dialogues at Change.org.
“I want to thank Change.org for providing an additional space for Tulsans to share what’s most important to them. This partnership is important as we continue to engage the public through the year while focusing on priority areas such as public safety, housing, homelessness, economic development, and education,” said Mayor Monroe Nichols.
The mayor’s office will host community listening sessions over the next five weeks from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:
- Midtown – Tuesday, May 26, The University of Tulsa, Allen Chapman Student Union, Great Hall, 3135 E. 5th Pl., Tulsa, OK, 74104
- North Tulsa – Tuesday, June 9, 36th Street North Event Center, 1125 E. 36th St. N., Tulsa, OK, 74106
- West Tulsa – Tuesday, June 23, Tulsa Dream Center West, 4122 W. 55th Pl, Tulsa, OK, 74107
