TULSA, Okla. — A portion of East 3rd Street will be closed in midtown Tulsa this week as part of a neighborhood waterline and road rehabilitation project.

The City of Tulsa said East 3rd Street will be closed from South Delaware Avenue to South Harvard Avenue.

The project consists of milling, which is removing the old surface of the road, patching where needed under the surface and repaving the road with new asphalt.

Waterline repairs will also continue as part of the project.

The City said the road rehabilitation will be completed in two phases, with each phase lasting 10 days.

Once finished, the second phase will close the eastbound lane.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down and follow all posted traffic signs during construction, the City said.

The City has contracted with Crossland Heavy Contractors for this $2,602,000 Improve Our Tulsa project. Construction is scheduled to be completed by late fall, weather permitting.

Area neighbors have been notified and a public meeting was held to discuss project specifics in December.
