TPD responds to fatal crash involving motorcycle at 31st and Riverside

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle at 31st and Riverside on Monday.

Police said the incident happened around 7:06 p.m.

According to officers, nearby cameras captured the crash on video.

As the driver begins turning, the department said a group of motorcyclists driving northbound at high speeds can be seen heading toward the car.

Law enforcement said one of the motorcyclists, identified as 20-year-old Caleb Lopez, crashed into the SUV’s passenger side and died on impact.

Police reported Lopez was wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.

According to police, Lopez was riding with two other people at the time of the crash.

TPD said one of the riders was believed to be drunk and the other was not a registered motorcyclist and had their bike towed.

The department said their Advanced Traffic Investigators are currently gathering evidence about the crash and are working to compile a report on their findings.
