TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The City of Tahlequah has decided to terminate its Assistant Police Chief Dexter Scott.
During a special council meeting, the Tahlequah City Council met in executive session to to review the matter. Following the session, they met in open session and voted unanimously to terminate Scott’s employment, effective immediately,
We reported in June that the Tahlequah Police Department leadership team recommended that Scott be terminated following an off-duty incident.
Over the course of an investigation, the leadership team found that Scott violated multiple police department and City policies.
Scott has since been charged with felony malicious injury to property over $1,000.
