TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said a man using a motorized wheelchair is dead following a hit-and-run incident in north Tulsa Monday morning.
Around 6:24 a.m. on Monday, authorities responded to a report of a crash on East 36th Street North, near North Lewis Avenue.
According to authorities, a Tulsa firefighter noticed a man lying underneath a motorized wheelchair on the south side of the road as he was driving to work.
Police said the firefighter got out of their car and found the man unresponsive.
Authorities said the firefighter called 911 and attempted to perform lifesaving measures, but the man was unfortunately pronounced deceased after paramedics arrived at the scene.
Investigators said they found pieces of a potential suspect car next to the wheelchair, stating they believe they belong to a dark gray Nissan sedan.
Authorities said they’re still searching for the driver involved in this fatal hit-and-run crash.
