Following an investigation, police said they learned a Chevy Trax was driving eastbound on East 21st Street when it attempted to turn left onto Maplewood Avenue.

Authorities said the Chevy Trax turned in front of a Nissan Altima traveling westbound on East 21st, which led to the cars colliding.

At the scene, first responders said they began providing lifesaving care for 81-year-old Mary Ann Gower, who was a rear passenger in the Chevy Trax.

Gower was transported to the hospital where authorities said she later passed away from her injuries.

Police said the three people inside the Nissan Altima were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The department stated the crash is still being investigated and that charges will be presented to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office if investigators believe it’s necessary.
