TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said an 81-year-old woman has passed away following a two-car crash.
Around 1:39 p.m. on Monday, officers said they were called out to an injury crash near East 21st Street and South Maplewood Avenue.
Following an investigation, police said they learned a Chevy Trax was driving eastbound on East 21st Street when it attempted to turn left onto Maplewood Avenue.
Authorities said the Chevy Trax turned in front of a Nissan Altima traveling westbound on East 21st, which led to the cars colliding.
At the scene, first responders said they began providing lifesaving care for 81-year-old Mary Ann Gower, who was a rear passenger in the Chevy Trax.
Police said the three people inside the Nissan Altima were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The department stated the crash is still being investigated and that charges will be presented to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office if investigators believe it’s necessary.
