Firefighters respond to house fire in BA after double lightning strikes

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — The Oak Grove and Broken Arrow Fire Departments responded to a house under construction on fire after double lighting strikes on Monday.

The Oak Grove Fire Department said firefighters were called just before 9 a.m. to a house fire near East 81st Street South and South 305th East Avenue. The Broken Arrow Fire Department also responded as mutual aid partners.

Workers were on scene of the house under construction when double lighting strikes took place.

Firefighters arrived and immediately called for a defensive attack, finding the home fully engulfed with flames extending around 50 feet.

All workers were able to exit from the building, even with two exits blocked from the fire. The home was a total loss.

The Oak Grove Fire Department said it is grateful for the quick actions of everyone on scene and for the continued partnership and support of the Broken Arrow Fire Department.
Crews are still on scene for overhaul operations.
