WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. — A Wagoner County judge could soon decide the outcome of a proposed solar project near Porter.
We reported last year about NextEra Energy’s plan to put solar panels on several acres of farm land near Porter and the Arkansas River. In June 2025, Wagoner County Commissioners heard more than three hours of community members’ concerns before voting 2 to 1 against the conditional use permit for the project.
NextEra’s then filed a legal challenge in Wagoner County District Court to overturn the denial.
On Monday, the judge hear arguments and went over the evidence. They are expected to issue a decision soon. We will update the story once we learn what that decision is.
