High school officials then conducted interviews with relevant information working alongside the Collinsville Police Department. Officials say based on the finding there is no active threat to the school, students, or staff.

School officials say as a precaution, officers with Collinsville PD will have an increased presence on campus today.

“We ask all parents and guardians to speak directly with their children about the severe risks and real-world consequences of making online threats.” said Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Hogan in a statement to parents. “Collinsville Public Schools maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for this behavior, and any individual responsible will face the maximum disciplinary actions permitted by district policy and state law.”

Officials are still working to identify the account holder.
