TULSA, Okla. – A scary moment at Tulsa’s BOK Center Thursday night when Journey drummer Deen Castronovo suffered a medical emergency during the band’s concert.
After just two songs, Castronovo was helped off the stage as the show came to an unexpected stop.
Band members asked fans to keep the drummer in their prayers while crews assessed the situation.
Minutes later, guitarist Neal Schon told the crowd Castronovo had been taken to a hospital, but the concert resumed with longtime drum tech Steve Toomey filling in behind the kit.
Throughout the night, band members expressed optimism about Castronovo’s condition, with Schon telling fans, “I think he’s going to be fine.”
As of Friday morning, no official details about the cause of the medical emergency have been released.
