Attorney General Drummond wants to intervene in Sand Springs data center

SAND SPRINGS — Another lawsuit was filed involving the Sand Springs data center.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond filed to intervene in the annexation lawsuit against the City of Sand Springs and the Ringle Family, the land’s original owners. Google purchased the land for a data center.

Sand Springs City Manager Mike Carter tells KRMG that their legal department is reviewing the request to intervene, but they do not think it changes the base facts of the case. He also said the city is looking forward to the court resolving the dispute.

In a previous interview, Carter says the data center could generate over $100 million in just over 20 years.

Back in April, a recall effort failed, and all of the city councilors retained their seats
