PSO permanent rate hike approved

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – A permanent increase in your electric bill goes into effect next month, after the State Corporation Commission approved a 3.55-percent rate hike for PSO on Thursday.

What the means as far as the dollar amount remains to be seen.

But it could be less than the average $11 interim fee that people have been paying since July.

The rate hike discussion has been all over the place this year.

PSO initially proposed a 15-percent increase.

Then the company worked out a settlement with the State Attorney General’s office for just 1-percent.

But now, the Corporation Commission has decided on 3.55-percent.

The good news for everyday consumers is that the commission’s order does include a so-called ‘large-load tariff’ that would be imposed on major electricity users like data centers.
