MUSKOGEE, Okla. — The City of Muskogee says they are investigating after they say there was a delayed activation of the outdoor storm warning sirens during Tuesday night’s storms.
The City says while there was a delay of the sirens, notifications were still sent out through Hyper-Reach and social media channels.
“Siren systems are designed to warn individuals who may be outdoors during severe weather events, making their timely activation especially important. Initial information indicates that there was a delay in the siren system activation, and the City of Muskogee Emergency Management is actively working to determine what went wrong.” the City posted on social media.
The City says that Emergency Management is working with the vendor and maintenance teams to find answers.
