National Weather Service confirms EF-1 tornado hit Muskogee Tuesday night

MUSKOGEE, Okla. — The National Weather Service has confirmed the tornado that touched down in Muskogee was an EF-1.

The NWS reports strong winds up to 110 mph uprooted and snapped trees, damaged fences and structures, but no injuries were reported.

The City of Muskogee is opening its brush and limb disposal site for Muskogee residents.

The City asks all customers to bring a water bill, along with a valid ID, for verification of residence.

The disposal site, located at South 40th Street and Denver Street, will operate during the following hours:

  • Thursday: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Friday: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The City said it is not offering any pickup services for debris at this time.
