TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department says a man is dead following a stabbing Sunday morning in south Tulsa.
According to police, officers responded to a stabbing call at the QuikTrip near 51st and Peoria around 5:45 a.m. Officers arrived and found Tramell Lyons, 27, lying in the intersection with a stab wound to his stomach.
Police say Lyons was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Officers say they met with the woman who stabbed Lyons inside the QuikTrip and said she met Lyons recently and Lyons had tried to pursue a relationship with her. The woman said he denied his advances so he blocked her from going inside the convenience store.
The woman ran away from Lyons, but he caught up to her in the intersection and punched her in the chin. The woman then stabbed Lyons and ran back to the QuikTrip to get help.
Police say an investigation is underway, but no arrests have been made at this time.
This is Tulsa’s 15th homicide of 2026.
