TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said they’ve arrested a suspect who left behind his phone—which featured a lock screen with a selfie of himself—alongside items stolen during a Dollar General burglary.
Around 3:49 a.m. on Sunday, Tulsa Police said they responded to reports of a burglary occurring at a Dollar General near South Mingo Road and East 31st Street.
According to authorities, a security team viewing a live feed of the store’s surveillance cameras saw the suspect smash the glass on the front doors with a pickaxe before he crawled inside the store and grabbed several items behind the counter.
The security company said the suspect was later seen returning to the store, likely searching for the lost cellphone later recovered by police.
As officers arrived at the scene, they said they spotted a man matching the description of the suspect in the security video walking down East 31st Street.
Police said the man took off running as soon as he noticed the patrol cars; however, the department said he was able to quickly be taken into custody.
After searching the area, police said they found the several stolen Bluetooth speakers hidden nearby.

Along with the speakers, officers said they found a phone which featured a selfie of the suspect as its lock screen wallpaper.
The suspect was taken to the Tulsa County Jail and is set to face a Burglary After Former Conviction of a Felony charge.
