SUV, motorcycle collision kills Tulsa man in Midtown over the weekend

Tulsa Police were called out to a collision near 48th Street and Sheridan at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the initial investigation indicates that a Lexus SUV failed to yield while turning and pulled in front of the motorcycle. The SUV struck the 2024 Harley Davidson, and the rider, 46-year-old Justin Dye, was thrown from his motorcycle.

The 91-year-old driver of the Lexus was injured, and Dye was critically injured. Witnesses attempted to render first aid before paramedics arrived.

Both were taken to the hospital, and Dye needed emergency surgery but was later pronounced dead. The driver was treated and released. Officers located a home surveillance system that recorded the collision.
