According to Tulsa Police, a 16-year-old went on a crime spree Sunday afternoon that included attempted rape and auto theft, near East Admiral Place and North Lakewood Avenue.

At around 4:10 p.m., Tulsa Police Officers were called about an attempted rape in progress. Witnesses told police a 16-year-old male crashed his truck and then attacked a woman who was walking in the area. Reports say the suspect punched and dragged her behind a nearby building and forced himself onto her.

Witnesses then chased the suspect down the street, but he ran to a repair shop, where he stole a white Chevrolet Silverado and fled. He hit two parked vehicles and crashed into a bridge pillar near the attack. As far as bystanders helping police, Tulsa Police Captain Richard Meulenberg said he commends the action, but wants people to be cautious and weigh the risks.
