TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department said a suspect with a warrant out for his arrest was taken into custody after his truck lost a tire in a construction zone as he was attempting to flee from authorities.
Around 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, a TPD officer said they noticed a white Chevy Silverado parked outside the Expo Inn Hotel, located near East 21st Street and South Yale Avenue.
Authorities said the truck was registered to 41-year-old William Davis, who received a warrant for his arrest after failing to appear in court for third degree burglary, drug possession and identity theft charges.
The officer said they attempted to pull Davis over for a traffic stop after they watched him leave the hotel and get into his truck.
However, law enforcement said Davis took off out of the parking lot, driving over a median and the sidewalk to reach 21st Street.
Police said Davis then continued to drive down 21st Street before leaving the sight of the officer.
Law enforcement said another group of officers located nearby saw Davis driving southbound on South Harvard Avenue, near East 27th Street.
Once police arrived at the scene, they said they saw Davis move out from behind a dumpster located about 50 feet away from his abandoned truck.
Law enforcement said they quickly took Davis into custody.
Following a search of the area, authorities stated they found a small bag containing about seven grams of fentanyl behind the dumpster where Davis had been hiding.

Police said was transported to the hospital to receive treatment for any injuries he may have sustained in the crash before being taken to the Tulsa County Jail.
Along with the charges associated with his three outstanding warrants, Davis is facing the following additional charges:
- Eluding
- Trafficking Fentanyl
- Obstructing an Officer
