TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department arrested a man following a high-speed chase Sunday morning.
According to police, an officer was on patrol near 49th Street North and Mino around 1:15 a.m. when they noticed several people and vehicles in a nearby parking lot.
As officers approached, everyone ran to their cars and drove off. Police say a suspect driving a white Chevrolet Camaro drove directly at an officer and sped away heading south on Mingo and turning westbound onto 46th Street North with other drivers.
Patrol officers broke off from the pursuit and yielded it to the Tulsa Police Helicopter. Police say the suspect and others exceeded speeds of 110 mph on city streets. The drivers split up and police stayed with the suspect.
The suspect was arrested and booked into Tulsa County Jail for eluding a police officer and reckless driving.
