PSO interim rate hike goes into effect tomorrow

TULSA, Okla. — If you’re a PSO customer, your electric bill is going up, starting tomorrow, July 1st.

That’s when PSO will implement so-called interim rates, which the company says will increase the average customer’s bill (those using 1,100 kilowatt-hours per month) by about $11 per month.

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission is currently reviewing a requested rate increase from PSO that, if approved, would be even higher than the interim rate.

But the Corporation Commission could set it lower than both the requested rate and the interim rate.

If it winds up being lower than the interim rate, PSO says they’ll refund the difference to customers.

The Corporation Commission has not set an exact date to make their ruling.
