Firefighters say they got the call around 7 p.m. and requested help from agencies such as Broken Arrow, Oak Grove, and Wagoner County.

According to authorities, firefighters believe that no one was home during the time of the fire. Firefighters had some issue getting to the fire due to the building structure as well as weather complications.

“Everybody here was just pure exhausted from the temperature, the heat and the struggles that we had… it was a very difficult fire for us to extinguish,” says Chief Brian Woodward with the Coweta Fire Department. “There was 25 firefighters here tonight, and we ran out of water. There were neighbors bringing water and we ran out of that water.”

Firefighters believe the cause of the fire was accidental and first responders said there are no injuries at this time. They say a hamster was inside the home and was rescued. The house is expected to be a total loss.
